SNAP Benefit Resources + Volunteer Opportunities

During Sunday’s service, Pastor Paul shared from the heart about the growing concern surrounding SNAP benefits and how this may impact families in our community:

“Many of you have asked about whether we’re partnering with any food banks or organizations now that SNAP benefits are ending. We don’t have a clear picture yet, but we’re reaching out to several food banks to figure out how we can help. I know many of you are asking, ‘Is there anything we can do?’ I remember as a kid, my family and I grew up on food stamps—back when you had to rip them out of a book. I couldn’t imagine what it would’ve been like if we didn’t have that.”

At Sonrise, we know that same reality is true for many families today. Hunger is not a distant issue—it’s close to home. That’s why we’re taking steps to learn how our church family can both serve and support during this season.

Below, you’ll find ways to volunteer with the Oregon Food Bank or access food assistance if you or someone you know is affected by the recent SNAP delay.

  • If you or someone you know is in need of groceries, meals or resources, you can visit this page and enter your zip code to find a distribution point near you:

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus—meeting real needs, right here at home.
