Exciting Growth at Sonrise
Dear Sonrise Family,
We are overflowing with gratitude for the incredible journey we've been on together as a church. Over the past three years, we've witnessed God's faithfulness in remarkable ways, with our attendance increasing by an astounding 50%!
We are deeply thankful that more people are being impacted by the ministries here at Sonrise and are growing in their relationship with God.
New Youth Pastor
As we continue this journey, we want to share some exciting news and extend a heartfelt request. To meet the growing needs of our community and advance our mission of guiding people into a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ, we are expanding our staff! We're especially pleased to announce that we are growing our family ministry team by hiring a dedicated youth pastor.
This is a vital step in empowering the next generation to experience God's presence daily and live out His mission in the world. We’re excited that John C Hughes has accepted our offer to serve as our youth pastor. Trust me, you’re going to love him!
The need for this new position is clear. Our youth ministry is thriving! This summer, we took 52 students and 11 dedicated leaders to camp this year, a significant difference from last year; 17 more students and 6 more leaders! Since returning, we started our summer Bible study with 10 students in our Journey study and 11 studying the book of Daniel. We've seen a consistent and growing group of students attending both Sunday morning programs and Sunday night services.
One student who attended camp shared that since then, he has realized he needs to read the Bible for himself to remember what God has done in his life. It’s clear God is stirring hearts, especially in the next generation. As a church, we want to be ready and equipped to meet that need with excellence, love, and long-term commitment. That’s where you come in.
New Growth Means Increased Financial Need
With this growth comes new financial responsibility. While we celebrate the significant growth in weekly attendees, our giving has not yet caught up on pace with this increase. This pattern is common in churches undergoing rapid growth, and we want to be transparent about it.
Many of you already give faithfully, and we are sincerely grateful. Your generosity has helped make all of this possible. As we enter this next season, would you prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to continue or even deepen your financial partnership with Sonrise?
