Serious Kingdom Work
by Pastor Eric
4/8/11
The Sonrise Youth have adopted an orphanage located in Busia, Uganda. So far, they have provided the provision of three-quarters of a ton of corn, a means of transportation for the pastor (David Cheni and a new bicycle) and have taken care of a medical bill for the pastor's young son suffering from malaria. About a month ago, I received a request to pray for the orphanage as they were out of food. I shared this with the youth and they immediately began to mobilize. The youth have a "never say no" attitude and they believe that all things are possible! Week after week, they rock my world and continue to impress me with their genuine faith! Well, a young man who has been attending the youth group for a short time was "moved by the Spirit" to answer the need! So, he told his parents of the need in Uganda and he began to take action. He sold some CDs and video games and with a gift from his parents, together they gave over $540 towards food aid for the orphanage! 540+ bucks! That is just unreal! So, with this family giving and the youth group making their contribution, the offering totaled more than 900 bucks! I need to get out of the way of these youth and let them go and do serious KINGDOM work! God is so good!

Last weekend, the Sonrise family went out in force to serve our community with "a day of kindness". From home repairs to park clean-up, Sonrisers were shining the love of Jesus all over Washington County and beyond.
