When God originally designed marriage between a man and a woman, He called it “very good”. When a man and a woman would leave their families to be joined with one another, there was perfect fellowship between God and his creation. Man and woman had no shame before God. Marriage represented God’s perfect love for His creation.
At Sonrise Church, we are committed to honoring the institution of marriage as God originally intended, to give you the best possible chance for a successful and joyous marriage. We want to partner with God to help you receive the richest blessings and intimacy in your marriage.

Pre-marital Mentoring
We employ a comprehensive pre-marital mentoring curriculum. Our mentors are not licensed counselors, but trained and caring Biblically-based facilitators. Together you will explore aspects of your relationship such as communication, intimacy, conflict resolution, extended family issues, and finances. Our mentors will encourage and challenge you to make commitments to be pure before God, offering immeasurable blessings on your marriage.
Marriage Mentoring
We offer marriage mentoring for couples from 1 to 50+ years of marriage experience in two areas:
• Enrichment Mentoring meets couples where they are and helps take them to the next level of intimacy in their marriage.
• Repair Mentoring meets struggling couples who need additional support in working through more complicated issues of intimacy, communication, conflict management, and parenting.
Sonrise Church offers wedding services for both on-campus and off-campus weddings. Part of the success of our wedding ministry is pre-marital mentoring for all couples, and the availability of a wedding facilitator for on-site weddings to make the day run more smoothly.

Sonrise Church sponsors local area experts and speakers in the matters of communications, sexual purity, Biblical roles of husbands and wives, and more through Couples Café.
Sonrise also partners with local churches to promote marriage enrichment such as marriage mentor training, couples conferences, couples retreats, and other enrichment opportunities.

MARRIAGE STRENGTHENING CLASSES AND SEMINARS - AVAILABLE TO PORTLAND AREA COUPLES. Classes are not affiliated with Sonrise Church, but are offered through neighboring churches and independent ministries. Made available to you for informational purposes. Updated monthly.
Growth group participation is an excellent way for couples to work together through issues under the guidance of a caring group leader and the Holy Spirit. Growth group participation can be an effective complement to the marriage mentoring process.
